What tools and equipment do I need to apply the Tough Coat?
Application is simple. Use a paintbrush, roller, or a spray machine for larger areas Basic safety gear such as gloves is recommended, and keep a suitable cleaner handy for spills and tool cleanup.
For Mixing the Tough Coat with the hardener we recommend using a drill mixer.
How do I apply the Tough Coat?
General Instruction
1. Apply products to clean, dry surface that is free of dirt, silicone, loose paint, rust, oil, grease etc. Use a Powerwascher to clean the surface.
2. Designed to be mixed with Tough Coat Hardener and oxides to produce a high build coating (extremely flexible and very strong).
3. Allow Waterproof Sealant to cure for 24 hours before applying the Tough Coat Mixture.
4. Broadcast Grit between Waterproof Sealant and the Tough Coat Mixture for optimal adhesion and grip.
What is the best way to prepare the surface for application?
Use a power washer to clean the surface. The surface must be clean, dry, and free of loose paint, rust, and other contaminants.
How much Tough Coat do I need?
The Tough Coat is applied at a rate of 1.5L / m2.
How to clean off the Tough Coat?
Use water if product is wet and solvents if product is dry.
How do I mix it with the Tough Coat Hardener?
Step 1:Mix the Tough Coat Hardener with 200ml - 300ml of water and stir well with a drill mixer.
Step 2: Pour the mixture into the 15L Tough Coat Bucket and stir it well with a drill mixer.
Note:The Tough Coat Hardener starts to react immediately after mixing it with water. Use up the product within 2h.
When is the best time to apply?
Apply in dry, mild weather. Avoid application if rain, dew, or strong winds are expected within 24 hours.
